Bangabandhu satellite ground station to inaugurate Tuesday

Special Correspondendt; The primary ground station in Gazipur’s Telipara is ready to serve for Bangladesh’s first satellite, Bangabandhu-1, which was launched into space on May 12.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the station via video conferencing from Bangabandhu conference centre at 10am on Tuesday, said Gazipur’s Deputy Commissioner Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir. 

Besides, the premier will also inaugurate the Chattogram’s Betbunia Ground Station, he added. 

On May 12,  the first satellite of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Satellite-1, successfully took off from Cape Canaveral launch site on-board a SpaceX Falcon9 rocket, after leaving the Thales Alenia Space Cannes site on March 28.
