AL to invite all registered parties to founding anniv programme: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said all registered political parties will be invited to the 75th founding anniversary programme of AL. "Awami League will invite all registered political parties to its (AL) 75th founding anniversary programme," he said while talking to reporters after a meeting with lawmakers from Dhaka district, mayors of Dhaka south and north city corporations and AL leaders of Dhaka south and north units. On June 23, he said, Prime Minister and party President Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the platinum anniversary programme in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban. On the same day, a discussion meeting will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan at 3 pm followed by a cultural event. Besides, a cultural programme will be held at Rabindra Sarobar in the capital and boat race and cycle rally will be arranged at Hatirjheel. The 75th founding anniversary of the country's oldest political party will be celebrated at each union and ward for three days, said the party general secretary. AL Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organising Secretaries BM Mozammel Haque and Mirza Azam, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, Dhaka North City Mayor Atiqul Islam, AL Executive Committee Member Sayeed Khokan, MP, Ferdous Ahmed, MP, AL Dhaka South unit President Abu Ahmed Mannafi and General Secretary Humayun Kabir, AL Dhaka North unit President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and Jubo League General Secretary Mainul Hossain Chowdhury Nikhil, among others, were present. |
